President's Message

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, Salam Sejahtera and Salam Malaysia Madani.

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the National Engineering Convention (NEC) 2025, held from 19 to 22 August 2025 at the Connexion Conference & Exhibition Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

With the theme “Engineering Malaysia, Integrating ASEAN”, NEC 2025 reflects BEM’s commitment to regional collaboration, professional excellence, and sustainable development. This convention brings together engineers, industry leaders, regulators, and students for impactful discussions on key areas such as regulatory harmonisation, international networking, sustainability, and talent development.

We are honoured to host delegates from ASEAN member states and strategic partners through the ASEAN+ Strategic Networking Meet, further strengthening Malaysia’s engineering ties globally.

Highlights include workshops on Construction Design Management (CDM) and Outcome-Based Professional Assessment, the Professional Conferment Ceremony, the Future Engineering Talents programme, and our inaugural ESG Workshop—all designed to elevate the profession and inspire future leaders.

On behalf of the Board of Engineers Malaysia, I thank you for your continued support. Let us make NEC 2025 a milestone of progress and collaboration.

YBhg. Datuk Wira Ir. Roslan bin Ismail
President

Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM)

NEC 2025 Objectives

  1. To strengthen regional engineering collaboration and strategic partnerships through ASEAN+ networking sessions, dialogues, and multilateral engagements that support Malaysia’s role as ASEAN Chair in 2025.
  2. To provide a national platform for professional development and regulatory updates for engineers through technical forums, workshops, exhibitions, and stakeholder engagement sessions with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM).
  3. To celebrate engineering excellence and promote recognition of the profession, including the conferment of new Professional Engineers, industry showcases, and the promotion of ethical and sustainable engineering practices.
  4. To inspire and nurture future engineering leaders through the Future Engineering Talents programme, which engages university students in interactive sessions, networking with mentors, and a start-up pitch hackathon to expose them to engineering pathways, regulations, and industry opportunities.
